English Language Challenges

Honestly I liked so much writing blogs, because some questions of the blog I never asked to myself. Like the blog that we made of the moment most embarrassing or my favorite picture of myself , there are things that I never though about it , and sit and meditate , give a spin to the topic, was fun and different.

Also this was time for us , because we talk about us, something that in this semester in my case i don't do , this was time just for me, I aprecciate that moment.

When I started to writing, I confess it was difficult at first, so this help me to practice again. Now , is a little bit less difficult , I do not write perfect but I have advanced in my grammar.

I need to improve my English speech, and (that) is a thing that you only learn in practice, so I must look for instances like this course, where I learn a lot of basics, and tips that you don't get in a book, so my plan is to keep reading and talking.

Knowing English open you a lot of chances, only having in your curriculum that you speak english fluently can make give you a job easily, and if you ask me, YES, I want to keep on learning how to English, I want it as a personal challenge, I always wanted to travel to other countries, to another continent someday, maybe, who knows, and English is the principal language (that you need to know) if you are a tourist, so…

CHANGES TO YOUR STUDY PROGRAM

A change in the career; Not only in the career , because this happens in others universities  and careers. The first change I would do, would be the procedure when you throw a subject, I can understand why if you throw a subject of the semester , you lose a year, If you throw a subject that you curse in one semester, you will paid just one semester more, not two, wtf? I think that only reflects that education is a profit;  without counting the issue that there is a certain number of students who must necessarily throw a subject because there is not enough space or teachers for all. This have to change, the career is very expensive  to pay for things like that

 In other side , in the faculty is a fact that applies violent and tortuous techniques to teach, even more  when you are in the clinic. What kind of education is that? What learning do you get at the cost of suffering?  the way of teaching has to change, we are in the 21st century, many things have changed and this can not be left behind.

And the last point,  the excessive number of years studying, 6 years is a lot and unnecessary there are countries  in which they are maximum 4 years.

I wish this to change, I really find that there are things  very badly done and that there are unfair things that only move away from the concept of university and education.

Summer Holidays

Summer holidays are around the corner and I would love to visit pichidangui (between Tongoy and Los Vilos) for the second time in a row with my group of friends, of course time has passed and relations among us have changed a bit, but i bet it will be the same (or quite similar) of the last year, or that I hope at least, because that journey was just beautiful.

Pichidangui is kind of boring but I will not visit it because of the place, because of the people that I would go with, there are some of my best friends in that group.

And of course I would love to travel with my family too, the last year we went to a part of the north of Chile that we didn’t know , near of Matanzas.  We rented a cabin next to the sea, far to the city more near so in the night we could see stars beautifully , and  in the day we had the beach just for us. This year I don’t know where we will go , we still do not have plans but, maybe the south , or to the beach again.

In a kind of returning the beautiful trips with my family, I would like a year to take them on a dream trip, like a cruise or a trip to Europe as my mom has always wanted.

Seriously this is my favorite photo of myself, why? The context of the photo.

This was in winter of the last year if I am not mistaken, the person by my side is my little sister , she is 14 years old, and we are the opposite , really the opposite, physically and psicology. Physically: I am brunette , she is white ,brown hair approaching blonde , I have straight hair, and she has wavy hair, we agree in the height, she is a little more tall than me, and we both use optical lenses, but in the other features we are totally opposed.  Psychologically ; the same , I consider myself more extroverted, my sister is introverted ,she is pink , I am darks( in the way of the clothes , accessories, etc)

So this photo was taken when we went to “Cajon del Maipo” for lunch, we just got up and my sister is one of those people that when she wakes up hates everybody, I decided to take a photo  with snapchat , before this moment I took photos with my mom too so came the turn with my sister, and happened this.  His face OMG , is like : please, kill me.  This photo reflects what I was already saying, we are always the contrary.

Postgraduate studies

Seriously I don’t know what kind of study I can do in the future, like postgrade studies. The people always says as you progress in the career you know what  your  path could be, I am in my first grade in the university so I have a lot of time to go knowing what I like.

 For the moment  I only know about forensic dentistry, that is a area that maybe I would like to study but I don’t know so much about it , we had just one class of this speciality , and the thing that I liked most was the person, not like if I have a crush in the teacher that was doing the class, (he is 80 years old so…)  I like the teacher and his class, I don’t know how explain, he has so much love of what he do, and so much vocation , was the way of teaching the reason why I take interest of forensic dentistry . Just think about it: A teacher that is 80 years old aproximate, doing a class just for love of art.

If I am not mistaken just here in Santiago you can do it this speciality, here , in this university. In that case, I would like do it In the abroad, that would be nice.

THE MOST EMBARRASING MOMENT

The most embarrasing moment, was when I  was in senior year. The classes were finished, but we had to rehearse the ceremony of graduation.  I was late, like always, so I ran to took the bus, but in this moment I fell in the street  because my feet entangled ( I know , so stupid, my motricity is not so fine). I fell, in the front of the bus, the bus stopped, and the driver is low to see how I was, not just this. The people inside the bus also went down to knew how I was , but a lot of people was laughing , of course of me. I was laughing too, but with a horrible hurt in my leg and foot right.

 I SAID: NO, DONT WORRY, IM FINE (THAT WAS NOT TRUE) and I crawled before the people could help me to  stand up. I CRAWLED, IN FRONT OF ALL THIS PEOPLE. 

Not enough I entered to the bus , and in this moment I saw classmates in the bus.

I don’t know why I entered to the bus, or why I crawled to entered , but is a funny moment of my life, the most embarrasing, maybe there are others  but I don’t remember in this time.

My favorite holiday

One of my favorite holidays was when with my family went to San andres , Colombia. I loved it.

Why? the weather, the people, the drinks, the breakfast, the sand, the beach , all. The only thing that I didn’t like was when I arrived of the airplane and I dressed jeans and a t.shirt, because the plane was cold inside(obviously, is not way that I can be outside the airplane and travelling at the same time), so we go down and the moist heat made present, was horrible, I remembered that I wanted to took off my clothes in that moment, I felt drowned, all my family felt the same, so we learnead the tecnic in that places , that have Caribbean weather, use all day swimwear.

The best memory that I have in that place is the water, Me and my mom swimming at 7:00 am in the beach and after that, went to ate breakfast.  The hotel was literally ahead of the beach so we walked 15 steps and we had the food( the most important part).

A COUNTRY  I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

One of my dreams is visit Japan in a future not far away.I want visit this country because I love anime in movies, series, mangas(all the ways of)  When i watched it , i saw a new culture .Maybe is a little ridiculous but anime is culture in Japan, and they have centre of enterteinment around this.

The perfect  season of the year to go, i think is in festivities, like new year eve , or when the cherry blossoms

This dreams is not just mine, my little sister have the same objetive in his life. I know if i will go to japon, i have to bring my sister with me. Problem number 1: the airplane ticket is so expensive, justly is in the other side of the world. Problem number two: I not just  will have to pay my airplaine ticket , also the ticket of my sister. So the goal is far yet, until my sister grows up and has the money to pay his ticket, or a part of .

IDEAL ENGLISH CLASS

My ideal English class in this point of the level, could be work a little more talking with my classmates, because we improvise in the moment.  The dissertation are more memory and nerves, with my classmates we approach what then will be later talk to someone foreign in English, in my case this situations was the most difficult .

My favorite subject

My favorite subject is anatomy. We have theoric class and also practice, and the last one is the best part, because we have the bodies there, we can touch and see our inside , of course not ours, the inside of the people that is there, but in a way , we have the same things as them, so we see our inside.

In this subject we learn about all the body, the muscles, the articulations, bones, organs, systems, a little of everything. The part that I like the most is the head, maybe I don’t have brilliant marks, but it is a interesting topic . The skull has so many parts , the base of the skull is to go mad, there are a lot of holes and reliefs  and so many things happen in these holes, arteries, veins, nerves,conduits, etc.

Like I said before my marks in this subject are not seven o marks like that,but I enjoy it a lot , somehow  anatomy is something that helps you to know you in a better way,and that is so important.

BLOG EXPERIENCE

When I started to writing, I confess it was difficult at first. The last time that I have English lessons was in the school, and since that is going a while, so this help me to practice again. Now , is a little bit less difficult , I do not write perfect but I have advanced in my grammar.

I like to include in the future, that we dedicated one class to talk about our blogs, because maybe that way it would be more entertaining and integrative.

I would like talk about goals or objectives, So in the future when I see it, I'll see how faithful I went to my goals in this minute, and the other can do the same.

My favorite picture

This photo I took, it shows a dog that I found on the beach and I decided to follow it. This dog was playing with me but suddenly he left and since I had nothing to do at that moment, I followed him. When he arrived at his destination it was a hostel, it was open, so I went in, and when I entered I found him in that pose, very relaxed and photogenic.

I do not remember the year, maybe 2014 or 2013, on vacation.

I like this photo very much, but I have other images that I like in the same way. This is not my favorite, but it is one of my favorites because the dog is so relaxed and seems happy, because if you look at it is like if it were smiling, it gives me a sense of calm.

Now that I related it, I should not have entered that hostel without permission. In my defense, it is unoccupied and there was nobody.

Which is my favorite film?

Since I was little my favorite film was Howl’s moving castle, if I am not wrong the first time I saw it was when I had 10 years old , with my classmates in Religion class. It is was released in 5 September 2004, is a Japanese animated fantasy film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The film is based on the novel of the same name by British author Diana Wynne Jones. After I saw this movie , I saw all the films of studio Ghibli, all are beautiful , I recommend a lot.

The film tells the story of a young hatter named Sophie after she is turned into an old woman by a witch's curse. She encounters a wizard named Howl, and gets caught up in his resistance to fighting for the king.

I think that this is my favorite movie because of the music. The music of the movie is amazing, this takes you out of your reality and puts all your concentration in the film. The music is by Joe Hisaishi.

What is your favorite piece of technology?

Like all, my favorite device is my cellphone, of course.  I have now the P8 of Huawei, it is a chinese Brand but it has worked very good, already going to have 3 years of use, so I´m not complainig ,less if it was a graduation gift.

I like it because it has fallen many times and it has never been broken , oh! and of course because I have everything I need in my cellphone. I can play , check my social medias, talk with my friends and family, save information ,listening music, call, send messages, and so many  others things.

Things that I can´t do with it? maybe to express oneself in a correct way; It is common that the information is incorrect only due to a bad reception of the information. And I have never really lost it for periods beyond an hour, for my luck. I do not know how if I lose everything.

Why I choose Odontolgy?

Well, it is a long story and it has a lot of detours. At first, I wanted to study medicine, like most of the students, it was my first choice since I was a child, but as the time passed by, I began to think about a second choice, and I decided myself for odontology. So I did the PSU test, but this didn’t go very well, so I decided to enter to the University of Santiago, Chile (USACH) to bachelor’s degree. I stayed there for a year and a half, the mechanism was simple, the first year we had a ranking of grades according to which we would enter to our desired careers, at the end of the year I was in the 14th place and medicine had 12  vacancies, so I decided to continue in nursing, mostly because of my love to the university and not that much because of my love to the career, I did not want to leave because of my friends. In nursing I was 1 semester, and the worst I could have ,because when you do not want to do something you notice, and every day is worse. Nursing was not for me, I knew it a month after I entered but I didn´t want to take the decision to leave, as a coward I think.  I made the decision and I left after the first semester, took a pre-university and gave the PSU  test again and I did better but not enough to get into medicine in the USACH ,so I started looking what could I do and I remembered my second option in dentistry. I think everything goes through something and I'm very happy to be here, I do not regret anything even though I feel I'm failing all the subjects.
My experience this month here, is great, I have met many people with different views and experiences, I share with people from others careers, so I'm so happy for my decision,  even though I'm failing everything, is part of the beginning.
I don´t  know what will be of my future, I only know that if everything goes well in 6 years I will be a dentist and I will be very happy with that.

Hi, my name is Gabriela Muñoz and I am 20 years old. I was born in Santiago Chile in 1997.

I am studying Odontology in the University of Chile, but first I studied other career.

One of my hobbies is watching anime and series. I think that the taste of anime comes to my childhood, when after the school in the CHV channel showed Inuyasha , Dragon ball, Hunter X and others.

My favorite movie is Howl`s moving castle of Studio Ghibli, but Spirited Away  and  Princess Mononoke like so much too. If we talk about food , my favorites are sushi ,chicken stew, and spaghetti  with any sauce, any of these meals have to be in a big plate. In the case of music , I think that I don’t have favorite music or gender of music , I like all in general.  And my favorite person is not a person, are my pets, I LOVE my dogs, I love all dogs, even in the future I see me with a lot of dogs in my house .
